I’m Still Here–Peeking In From Alaska
Oh my goodness. It has been way too long since I’ve chatted with you. And I have missed you. I have missed putting my heart on a page before the sweet people I’ve come to trust with it. I’ve missed your emails and messages reminding me that you are there and that I’m not alone. And I just wanted you to know that I’m still here.
So here’s the deal. I’m in Alaska and really having a hard time getting internet access. That’s why I’m taking the opportunity to write from this little coffee shop called the Sea Bean Cafe, and I’m hoping the wifi is strong enough to let me finish and post.
If you’ve been following me for long, you know that my family spends every summer commercial fishing for salmon on a little beach in south central Alaska. We don’t have electricity, but God bless cell reception and the invention of personal wifi that keeps me connected to the rest of the internet world. However, this summer has been a frustrating one. For whatever reason, I can’t stay online long enough to accomplish more than a Facebook post.
I just wanted you to know that I’m thinking of you, and I’m still writing my crazy thoughts on life, faith, love, and parenting and will share whenever I can get online for more than 6 minutes. When I’m silent (and you know I’m never actually silent) please know I’m thinking of you, cheering you on, and looking forward to being back with you whenever I can.
Until then, soak up some sun, read a good book, snuggle up with your husband, and kiss your babies. Sounds like a perfect way to spend a summer :-). Hugs sweet mamas. You’re awesome.
